Presenter Becky Clark published her first book in 2001 and has been honing her writing process ever since. She has developed many tricks and tips to speed up her writing because the key to a professional writing career is to consistently produce books. She is the seventh of eight kids, which explains both her insatiable need for attention and her atrocious table manners. She likes to read funny books so it felt natural to write them, too. She surrounds herself with quirky people and pets who end up as characters in her books. Readers say her books are “fast and thoroughly entertaining” with “witty humor and tight writing” and “humor laced with engaging characters” so you should “grab a cocktail and enjoy the ride.” She writes the Lazy Low Cal cookbooks, the Dunne Diehl novels, the Mystery Writer’s Mysteries, and the upcoming Crossword Puzzle Mysteries.

New Release: The Burden of Hate by Helen Starbuck

Author Helen Starbuck will debut the third installment of the Annie Collins Mystery Series, The Burden of Hate in October. One of the many complimentary Kirkus Review comments was “A thriller that offers a master class in suspense.” The Blue Ink review said “Starbuck injects humorous moments while also instilling a credible sense of fear and delivering intelligent, compelling characters.”

The launch party will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Washington Park Grille, 1096 S Gaylord Street. She hopes some of her SIC can attend.

Update on the second in the series: The audiobook of No Pity In Death won first place in the Colorado Independent Publisher’s Association’s EVVY Awards.
