sami-lien“PR 101: Promoting and Branding Your Book to The Masses”
One of the most influential ways to make a splash in the literary scene is by word of mouth. But how do you reach some of the most voracious readers and book buyers online when the very task of targeting so many outlets and managing social media is so overwhelming? The trick is to learn how to manage your approach to get the most out of your time and hard work. Join Denver publicist Samantha Lien (of Roger Charlie) for a fun workshop and brainstorming session on how to manage your own promotional strategies and expectations so you don’t get derailed from your efforts.

12:00-1:00 pm Lunch (brown bag or visit nearby restaurants)

1:00-3:00 pm Tracy Brisendine
tracy-brisendine“Homicide for Writers, Not Criminals”
Step beyond the crime-scene tape for a realistic look at homicide and death. The basics of crime scene processing and investigation will be covered in the first hour. During the second hour attendees will learn the fundamental characteristics of gunshot wounds, stabbings, and blunt-force trauma. If you ever plan on offing someone, fictionally of course, don’t miss this workshop.
