10:00 am-12:00 pm Bernadette Marie: “Successfully Writing a Series”

Explore the adventure that is writing a series and learn the key elements to your series success. We will discuss the necessity of plotting out your series and creating a series “Bible.” What genres are best suited for a series and how does the passage of time affect the series? Cover art, character arcs, pitching, and marketing you series will also be discussed in depth.

12:00-1:00 pm Lunch (brown bag or visit nearby restaurants)

1:00-3:00 pm Tan Smith: “Interviewing without a Badge”

There are a number of misconceptions surrounding interviews. Thanks to the media, the concept of an interview is equated to an “interrogation” in which the suspect finally caves and admits to a crime. This presentation will strive to dispel  the myths, clarify how the many different types of interviews are conducted, and how women can utilize their talents to discover information.

Please feel free to come to either the morning or afternoon session if you cannot attend both.
